Whitney: What Have You Done For Us Lately?

Twitter exploded yesterday with the announcement that singer Whitney Houston had died. While it's sad to hear anyone has passed away, I noticed that there were a ton of famous people saying she was the greatest singer of all times.

The reason I question this is that's the same thing everyone said when Michael Jackson died; and the same thing was said when James Brown died; and the same... You see what I mean.

I'm not arguing that she was a pretty terrific singer but it's also been a while since she had a hit (17 years). And given Whitney's history of drugs and alcohol I can't say I was really surprised. Sort of like when Amy Winehouse died. No big surprise there either.

Let's look at Whitney's top songs according to Billboard.

The Moscow Ballet

The other night I took the family to see "The Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker" which is currently doing a national tour.

Okay, let me get this out of the way... If you're thinking of buying tickets please save your money.

Here's how it's billed. "A cast of 40 professional dancers, over 200 elaborate costumes, and 10 sets make this production one of the most elaborate to be seen!"

I would agree if this was a High School show but not a professional touring company. And this is their 19th annual North American tour!

I did like the dancers. They all are professionally trained and there were some really nice moments. Unfortunately the choreography by Anatoliy Emelianov looked to be Community College level at best.

The costume design by Arthur Oliver and the scenic design by Valentin Fedorov weren't even that good. The costumes were generic and the sets very rudimentary. Nothing to get excited about. There were also these life size puppets designed by Fedorov that looked like Muppets on acid. Very creepy.

I did like the children. They used a group of very young, beginning ballet students from the Hart Academy of Dance here in Southern California. These girls did a great job. Kudos to their teacher, Emily Baker.

I'm sure you've figured out by now that I think the director, Anatoliy Emelianov, phoned it in.

Ah, for the good old days when we could send someone like that to Siberia.

IN-N-OUT Burgers

Once again, last night, I was in Baldwin Park, California and had the best hamburger in the world.

Okay, stop yelling. I know you have a burger joint by your house that you love, but I'm telling you this beats them all. As long as you're in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, or Texas. If you're not... I feel for you.

I try not to eat very much fast food. One reason is the calories. The other is most of it tastes like shit. And life is too short.

So last night the freeway was jammed so I exited and pulled out my iPhone to see what was in the vicinity. Yes, I have food apps on my phone. Shut up.

There it was just three blocks north. I hit the walk up and ordered a 4X4 Animal Style, and Animal Fries. Yes, that's really what I ordered (more about the menu later).

I know, it's not very pretty but it is amazing. The 4X4 is four excellent quality, 100% beef pure patties, four slices of real American cheese, lettuce, grilled onions, and a special sauce that got a thousand island flair to it. The buns are fresh made using old-fashioned, slow rising sponge dough. When I'm eating this you need to stand back or you might lose an arm. The fries have melted cheese, grilled onions, and more of the special sauce. Oh, baby!

When you drive through or walk up the menu looks pretty basic. What's cool is they have a (not so) secret menu. If you're in the know, it sort of makes you feel like your in a special club.

Their claim to fame is the Double-Double burger (half of my 4X4).

Need a little more? You can order a 3X3. Most of the time I order my burger "Protein Style" which comes wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. They were the first ones to do this. Many others have now imitated it.

This can get messy so I eat it standing up and leaning over. Okay, I inhale it. If you need just a protein fix before going to the gym you can order a "Flying Dutchman".

That right. Just two grilled patties and two slices of cheese. About three bites and this is gone.

Don't want the meat, that's cool, just order a Grilled Cheese. Two slices of melted American cheese, lettuce, tomato, sauce, with or without grilled onions, on a bun. Outstanding.

They will cook up whatever you want, but be careful, a while back some guy, who thought he could call their bluff, ordered a 100X100. They delivered.

All their ingredients are fresh. Nothing is ever frozen and they have no microwaves or heat lamps. I don't really call it fast food. It's more quick food because they don't precook anything. Everything is done to order. It's all worth waiting for.

When I need my fix I will drive across town, in heavy traffic to get to an IN-N-OUT.

Dinner last night at Cafe Bizou in Pasadena, California.

The starter was a lobster and salmon ravioli and a lobster stuffed mushroom both in a lobster sauce. Nicely prepared. I could have easily had nine or ten of these. It was tasty enough to help me ignore the fact that they don't wipe the plates. But that's just me.

Then roasted lamb chops in a rosemary lamb sauce as an entrée. Done rare, just how I like it. The rosemary was not overpowering and the lamb just sort of melted in my mouth. I would order this again.

But the bad news was my wife's entrée. A Monkfish with saffron shrimp risotto and a white wine herb sauce. When I've had monkfish correctly prepared in the past I've usually found it to be sort of dense, sweet, and very similar to lobster tail meat in both flavor and texture. Not this time. There wasn't much flavor to it at all. And the fish meat seemed soggy. The only saving grace was the sweet potato curly fries. They were really good but hardly made up it.

For afters a mango and raspberry sorbet that was just right. So, overall a good dinner. I would return here if I was in the area but probably not worth going across town.

Boy, the good news from Iraq just keeps on coming in.

First I hear that Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi (the guy who's testimony was used by the Bush Administration to start the war) lied about the whole WMD thing. He was quoted as saying "I had a chance to fabricate something to topple the regime".

That's great. So in the end we find out that Hans Blix, the UNMOVIC (United Nations Monitoring, Verification, and Inspection Commission), Interpol, the WMDC (Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission), and the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) were all right.

And just in case I wasn't on the verge of having a stroke, now Baghdad wants the U.S to apologize and pay $1,000,000,000 for the damage done to the city because of the war.

In my opinion it's time to get the hell out of Dodge. Tell the troops to pack up their shit and line up on the tarmac. They're all going home. And thank you for your service to our country.

I'd also like to ask all Americans to join me in one final salute to the Iraqi government.

I've been getting a lot of emails from friends telling me how evil ObamaCare is. Most say we don't need it. What I don't hear from anyone is what else could be done so I'll make the assumption that everything is fine the way it is.

I'd like to take a moment and look at how "we-the-tax-paying-people" of the United States are already funding health care for uninsured people. And this happens under Democrat and Republican administrations.

Let's start with Medicaid.

Medicaid is the national health insurance that helps people who can't afford medical care pay for some or all of their medical bills. Medicaid is available only to people with limited or no income.

How is this funded?

With your tax dollars.

How about County Hospitals and clinics?

Each State has a series of County Hospitals and clinics. These are usually used by people with limited or no insurance. If you show up at a County Hospital requesting to be treated you cannot be turned away. Even if you say your name is Joe Blow, have no ID, no address, no phone number, and no insurance, it's against the law to refuse anyone health care. So Joe gets to be seen by a doctor, have any and all tests that are ordered, admission to the hospital, any surgeries, and filled prescriptions when he's discharged.

And who pays for these services?

Your tax dollars.

Now let's say that that Joe shows up at a regular emergency room. Same law applies. He cannot be turned away. So the emergency room doctor determines Joe is having a heart attack. He's taken to surgery for a bypass then is admitted to the ICU for a number of days. Eventuality he goes home (where ever that may be). The hospital is now in the hole around $80,000. Do you think they're going to eat the loss? No way. They get to apply for State and Federal reimbursement money for indigent patients.

And where does that money come from?

Your tax dollars. You see where I'm going with this.

When this money finally arrives from the Feds it doesn't even come close to covering the price tag. What to do? The hospital starts charging people with insurance a higher rate for services. Your insurance pays it and the extra money goes to Joe's bill. Your insurance company now raises your rates to cover the higher rate and to make sure they can still pay really good bonuses.

So you get to help pay for Joe's hospital stay via your tax dollars and your insurance premiums. Pretty cool, isn't it?

More good news.

USAID is an organization that sends our Federal money to foreign countries for health care. I think that would qualify for paying for uninsured people. Looking at their budget for 2009 we sent out $26,138,436.00.

Do I need to ask? Okay, I will. How is this funded?

You're going to love this.

Part of it is funded by your tax dollars and the rest, because the Country's broke, is borrowed from the Chinese.

Here's USIAD's mission statement.

"The United States has a long history of extending a helping hand to those people overseas struggling to make a better life, recover from a disaster or striving to live in a free and democratic country. It is this caring that stands as a hallmark of the United States around the world - and shows the world our true character as a nation."

Note the wording "free and democratic country". This is left over from the Cold War, but that's a whole other discussion.

Anyway, my point is that I believe that charity begins at home. Our Country has no money. The bank is closed, and we're already in debt up to our eyes. Let's take care of our own. If other Countries don't like it, tough shit.

Sometime in the future, when we're back on our feet, maybe we can start sending money out. Maybe. But only after every American has health care, a place to live, and food on the table. Plus we need to put some money away for a rainy day.

Americans also send a lot of dough to overseas charity organizations. You've seen the commercials. Guilt trip central. How about we contribute to non profit groups that only service people in the US? Is it really more important for a televangelist to launch a satellite over South America then to give Americans a decent way to live?

I know, I'm a cold hearted bastard but I make no apology. Having a blog is great for my blood pressure. I get to vent.

Anyway, I'm not thrilled with ObamaCare. I have read the entire thing and it's not the end of the world. It needs to be tweaked. I just don't think everything is fine the way it is.

If you don't like ObamaCare that's cool, but are you really happy with the way things are? I'm open for suggestions.

Okay, I'm getting more confused. I can't tell the good guys from the bad guys without a scorecard.

First up is Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf. Back in 2003 he was asked by the FBI and Homeland Security for his help following 9/11. In his first meeting he was quoted by the FBI as saying, "Islamic extremism for the majority of Muslims is an oxymoron. It is a fundamental contradiction in terms."

Given the situation at the time he sounds like a guy to have on our side. And the FBI, Homeland Security, and the Bush Administration gave him a white hat, said he was one of the good guys, and sent him on speaking tours.

Okay, fast-forward a bit. Now this same guy wants to build a Islamic Cultural Center (called the Cordoba House) two blocks away from Ground Zero.

The people at Fox News have gone crazy over this. Suddenly he's a bad guy. He's the lowest of the low. What's he really up to? Something bad. Something very bad. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Fox News people say we should follow the money. They reported that a Saudi organization called "The Kingdom Foundation", which may have ties to terrorists, is footing the whole bill for the Mosque.

Holy shit!

So I did some checking and found out the organization belongs to this Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal. Take a look at this guys. He looks like a terrorist.

Wait a minute. I've seen this guy somewhere before. Where was it? Now I remember, after 9/11 he gave Rudy Giuliani a cheque for $10m as a donation to help New York City.

But Giuliani got so much shit for taking the money from an Arab, that he had to sent the cheque back.

So he's a bad guy, right? But Fox News has had him on their shows before and were pretty friendly to him. See, this is why I'm confused. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? What else do we know about this guy?

Not much. Except that he just happens to be the second largest shareholder of News Corp just behind Rupert Murdoch.

Does this mean Fox News is saying Rupert Murdock is paling around with a terrorist?

Probably not because News Corp owns Fox News.

But I still think I remember seeing his guy somewhere else. When was that?

Oh, yea. Now I remember. But I'm still confused.

Tea Party Racism?

The NAACP has accused the Tea Party of racism.

Sarah Palin was quick to say "It's very unfortunate that they are taking this tactic because it's a false accusation that Tea Party Americans are racist. Any good American hates racism. We don't stand for it. It is unacceptable."

But there's a organization called the "Council of Conservative Citizens" who say they not only back the Tea Party but that many of their members are also members of different Tea Parties.

What's interesting about this group is sections from their "Statement of Principles"

(2) We believe the United States is a European country and that Americans are part of the European people. We believe that the United States derives from and is an integral part of European civilization and the European people and that the American people and government should remain European in their composition and character. We therefore oppose the massive immigration of non-European and non-Western peoples into the United States that threatens to transform our nation into a non-European majority in our lifetime.

We also oppose all efforts to mix the races of mankind, to promote non-white races over the European-American people through so-called “affirmative action” and similar measures, to destroy or denigrate the European-American heritage, including the heritage of the Southern people, and to force the integration of the races.

(6) The traditional family is the basic unit of human society. We believe in the traditional family as the basic unit of human society and morality, and we oppose all efforts by the state and other powers to weaken the structure of the American family through toleration of sexual licentiousness, homosexuality and other perversions, mixture of the races, pornography in all forms, and subversion of the authority of parents.

I'm very confused. Back in the 1980's President Ronald Reagan said that nuclear arms should be reduced by a third. Later he said that he dreamed of a world with no nuclear weapons.

Mr. Reagan wasn't able to accomplice this. Nor did President George HW Bush, President Bill Clinton, or President George W. Bush. Now into the second year of the Obama administration a treaty has been signed with the Russians saying that both sides will do just that.

Okay, I wasn't expecting dancing in the streets, but I think it's a big deal. I think Mr. Reagan was correct and I'm happy to see it finally happening. That's where my confusion starts because some Republicans are complaining about it. Newt Gingrich, Shawn Hannity, and Sarah Palin act like this is the end of the world and is the craziest idea ever conceived.

Like these three know better than Ronald Reagan.

There's an old saying that some people would even complain if they were hung with a new rope.

Is Fox News Above The Law?

I suggest that the legal department at Fox News should be replaced. They obviously don't have a clue about American copy-write law.

If you've written a book, for example, you have it copy-written. That way you work is protected and if someone wants to use any or all of it they have to request permission. You may then decide if you want to let them use it, or not, and you can let them have it for free or charge them. That's the law.

This goes for anything, movies, songs, TV shows, etc.

You may remember two years ago when lawsuits were threatened against the RNC because John McCain's campaign didn't get permission to use songs by Jon Bon Jovi, Ann and Nancy Wilson (Heart), John Mellencamp, the Foo Fighters, and Jackson Brown. The music for all these people are licensed for public use by ASCAP, the publishing company who controls the rights to the songs.

This brings me to Fox News. Tonight they has a new show. It's called "Real American Stories" and it's hosted by Sarah Palin.

At first glance I figured Sarah Palin would be interviewing people with interesting, all American stories.

One of the commercials for the show was about rapper and actor LL Cool J (James Todd Smith) and his American story. A problem arose when LL saw the commercial and called his publicist. The reason he called is because he hadn't done an interview with Sarah Palin.

Once his publicist looked into it she found the show was going to use an old 2008 interview he had done with somebody else. Plus, they hadn't asked anyone for permission.

That's not only not cool, it's not legal. LL did a tweet that said "Fox lifted an old interview I gave to someone else and are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palin's show."

Nicely put. Not nasty in any way. LL is know to be a gentleman.

Instead of Fox News coming clean and saying they made a mistake, they turned it around to make LL look like the bad guy.

Here's what Fox News Channel put out. "Real American Stories features uplifting tales about overcoming adversity and we belief Mr. Smith's interview fit that criteria. However, as it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview for the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career."

Yes, his story fits the criteria for the show, but you didn't bother to get permission to use it. Are they really this stupid? Or do they think they don't need to follow American law?

Plus, I'm not sure that having been in 20 movies, 5 TV shows, and currently costarring on a hit TV show (NCIS-Los Angeles) would be called a fledgling acting career, but, I digress.

More problems came when the publicist for County Western singer Toby Keith saw her client in a commercial for the show. She put out a statement saying, "We were never contacted by Fox. I have no idea what interview it's taken from. They're promoting this like it's a brand new interview."

It's still unclear to me what Sarah is doing on the show. Maybe she just sets up someone else's interview then comments on it afterwards. That's easy money for her. Someone else can write your comments and you get to read them off a TelePrompTer... or her hand.

That's real class. That certainly helps endear me to their cause... not. What's better are some comments from Republican leaders.

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) was quoted as saying it was "No big deal".

And Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif) said "When you use a totalitarian tactics, people, you know, begin to act crazy".

Does he mean to say that the Democrats who were treated this way brought it on themselves?

No Government Run Health Care

I've changed my mind about this whole government run health-care thing. I am now against it.

As a health care professional I read the original HR version last year. All 1000+ pages of it. To be honest, I liked it. It wasn't perfect but it was pretty damn good. A number of people went a little crazy because much of it was worded just like the small print in their private health care policies that they had never bothered to read.

I felt at that time that it needed to be tweaked by people who knew what to do. By that I mean doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. Instead the politicians went to work and screwed the pooch. Now it's just a POS.

Having said that I think there's another aspect of it we should look at.

For a while now Glenn Beck has said that this new government run health care would be the end of our civilization as we know it. Okay, old Glenn does occasionally say outrageous things and he and I are not BFFs but he may be on to something.

For a while now there's been some pretty funny cartoons out there suggesting that this new government run health care is either a Communist or a Nazis plot. Okay, it's not, but there's a bigger concern. We can't afford government run health care.

Let's start with the current health care bill. It's estimated that it will cost about $84,900,000,000 each year for 10 years. If the government is broke and can't even balance a budget then we can't afford it so scrap it.

Medicare. Socialized medicine by any other name would smell as bad. So let's get rid of Medicare. Don't complain, it's government run health care that costs about $737,000,000,000 each year. We can't afford it. Gone.

Medicaid. Same as above. It costs us $190,000,000,000 each year. Gone.

The VA Health Care System. Sorry, it's still government run, socialized medicine. It costs us $34,000,000,000 each year. All gone.

Indian Health Services. I don't care about treaties. Why should I? The US government hasn't upheld any over the years. Anyway, it costs $4,100,000,000 per year. Not any more.

I wasn't able to get a firm number on US military health care, but it looks like the socialized, government run health care being forced on our brave men and women in uniform costs about $50,000,000,000 per year. They deserve better, like Blue Cross or Health Net.

Okay, let's do the math. If the current health care bill is scrapped, and we discontinue all socialized health care in America, we would save $1,050,000,000,000 just this year. That's a lot of zeros. How close does that get us to a balanced budget?

But wait, there's more.

TriCare for Life (military supplement to Medicare) costs $13,000,000,000 each year.

We're spending $1,200,000,000 for Preparation for an Influenza Pandemic. Yes, we're really funding that.

Then there's the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) which gets $545,500,000,000 each year. 62% goes to Medicare, 35% goes to Medicaid, and 1% goes to State Children's Health Insurance Program.

I need a drink.

In closing maybe we should learn from history. Back in 1961 Ronald Reagan warned us about socialized medicine. Take a listen.

Boy, this has been a bad week for former Vice President Dick Cheney. For the past year he has been making the rounds with all the news services saying that we (America) was safer under the Bush Administration than we are now under the Obama Administration.

But now we find out that's not exactly so.

A main finding following 9/11 was that intelligence agencies weren't sharing information. I seem to remember both President Bush and Vice President Cheney saying they would fix that. Apparently they didn't because after the attempted Christmas bombing last month it was found that intelligence agencies still weren't sharing information.

To be fair, the Obama Administration had also done nothing to fix the problem. So it seems that with either a Republican or a Democratic Administration in office nobody does shit for us. We're on our own.

More bad news for Mr. Cheney came today when Admiral Mike Mullen (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs under both the Bush Administration and the Obama Administration) said publicly that the time spent deciding the troop build up in Afghanistan was not dithering. But that one must think long and hard before sending Americans in harm's way and that this was an appropriate time to spend.

Don't throw stones, Mr. Cheney.

So let's review what's going on in Afghanistan.

Right now there are more than 100,000 international troops in country in addition to 200,000 Afghan security forces and police. That means they good guys out number the bad guys 12 to 1. The military says they need another 40,000 more troops to get the job done. What, those odds aren't good enough?

So far the United States has spent $1,600,000,000,000. Damn, that's a lot of zeros.

There are 898 dead American troops and 4,360 wounded.

The CIA's favorite son, Hamid Karzai, has been reelected as president in a fraudulent election.

The main export out of Afghanistan is still heroin.

If my memory is correct I think the mission was to catch Osama bin Laden.

After eight years in Afghanistan we find that bin Ladin and his boys has been in Pakistan for the past 7 1/2 years and the Pakistani government won't let us cross their boarder to get him. As far as I'm concerned it's time for a tactical withdrawal. Mission Accomplished! Tell the troops to pack their shit, they're coming home.

I really think that American politicians never learn from history. We didn't do any better in Viet Nam after the French got their asses handed to them and left. And we're not doing any better than the Russians did in Afghanistan. Let's get out while the getting is good.

Yes, I am a medical professional, but I am giving up discussing the "Government Run Health Care" issue anymore. I'm beginning to question some peoples priorities.

See if I have this straight. The Government (both Republican and Democrat) take millions of our tax dollars every year and send it to foreign countries so those people can have health care.

But when anyone talks about supplying Americans with health care some people have a walleyed hissy fit like it's the end of the world.

My suggestion is we just eliminate all the socialist-government-run-health-care programs that are currently destroying our country. Because I keep getting emails saying no socialism! No government run programs! The private insurance companies and drug manufactures are our friends. They have no special interest. They're all doing a bang up job and we should leave things the way they are.

That means we can save a lot of money and maybe balance the federal budget by discontinuing Medicare, Medicaid, and the Veterans Administration (just to name a few).

Oh, snap! I just remembered that the Veterans Administration Health Care Program has been rated one of the best in the Country.

That can't be because it's a socialist government run program.

Give a listen to Phil Longman who authored a new book called "Best Care Anywhere" as he discusses things with Howard Dean (who is not only a politician but also a physician).

When I heard David Letterman's jokes about Sarah Palin's daughter I assumed it was about the older one. I also thought it was pretty funny. Let's also remember that children of public figures have always been fair game. At least John McCain and Rush Limbaugh have thought so.

In 1993, when Rush Limbaugh had a television show, he put up a picture of Socks, the White House cat, and asked "Did you know there was a White House dog?" Then he put up a picture of Chelsea Clinton who was 13 years old at the time.

I've been reading about clean coal technology for a while and I've decided it should be put on the list with jumbo shrimp and military intelligence. Okay, they say it produces less greenhouse gas emissions than regular coal burning, but it still puts out a shit load. The Department of Energy thinks it's a good idea.

The Sierra Club thinks differently. I would suggest that the Department of Energy has plenty of lobbyists from the National Union of Mineworkers.

I've also noticed that Al Gore and his boys never mention logging. Another big business with plenty of lobbyists. Al keeps saying we need to reduce our greenhouse gas output. Okay, fair enough, but Al, what about the rain forests?

If the current rate of destruction continues, half our remaining rain forests will be gone by 2025, and by 2060 there will be no rain forests left.

This is beyond belief. Back on March 17th the North Korean military grabbed two American journalists on the Chinese boarder (Euna Lee and Laura Ling). Their cameraman managed to get away. They were doing a story on refugees fleeing North Korea into China.

The two have now been charged with "hostile acts" and will be put on trial "based on their documented crimes".

They work for Al Gore's cable network channel Current-TV.

So where's Al? He hasn't said a word about two of his employees being kidnapped by a hostile foreign government, being held incognito for 38 days, and now being put on trial.

Newt Gingrich is not happy at the thought of President Obama smiling and shaking hands with Hugo Chavez. He said that he fells it sends a terrible signal about how the new administration regards dictators.

So let's have a look at the body language.

1: Leaning a bit forward into the other person's personal space is a dominant move.

2: A palm down handshake indicates dominance where a palm up shows submission.

3: Dominance can also be shown by using the left hand to grip the other person on the upper arm.

I'm a little confused about Sarah Palin. Last night while making a speech in Indiana at a Right-To-Life banquet, she said that during her last pregnancy her amniocentesis showed that she was carrying a Down Syndrome child. She then said that for a moment she considered having an abortion. That means she thought she had choices. What do I mean by choices?

Choice 1: Have the baby and keep it.

Choice 2: Have the baby and give it up for adoption.

Choice 3: Terminate the pregnancy.

She chose the first one, but if she considered having an abortion then she was evaluating all three of her choices. But wait, she says that women should only have choices 1 & 2. During her run last year with John McCain she stated that she was pro-life, believed that Roe v. Wade should be overturned, and that there should be no abortion rights even in the case of rape or incest. Why does she get the option of choice 3 but nobody else does?

Sarah, you can't have it both ways.

Creative Tax Exemptions

Well, it's tax time and I'm trying to figure out all of my exemptions. I thought I'd hit the jackpot with Octomom dropping that litter but she didn't do that until January. Guess I'll save that for next year.

The reason I think I should be able to use her eight new bastard children as a write off is that all eight were born using Medical insurance (which is California's public assistance Medicaid program) funded by my tax dollars. And at last count the State of California payed out around $5,000,000 to Kaiser Permanente for this bunch. If I'm forced to pay for them then I think I should get a State tax write off.

Wait, I think I have an idea. Octomom has six other children. Three are disabled and have been receiving Social Security Disability money. That's funded using my tax dollars so I should be able to write that off with the Feds. As far as the State of California, she's been getting food stamps for these three. That's public assistance as well, so there's my States tax write off.

I wonder if my tax guy's going to buy any of this? Doesn't hurt to ask.

Recently there were a number of segments of Fox News that said that the "Mister Rogers Neighborhood" show has ruined all of western civilization.

You've got to be kidding! Who do these idiots think they are? You can talk trash about a lot of people but leave Mister Rogers alone! What are you a bunch of Communists?

Kim Jong Il, like his father before him, have been playing the world like a song since 1953. What I can't figure out is why everyone continues to fall for this.

Here's what happens. North Korea starts talking like they might start some shit. The U.S., Japan, China, South Korea, and Russia give them large amounts of food, medicine, money, and fuel oil in the hope of placating them. This works for a while then starts all over again. I think the obvious question here is WTF?!

Albert Einstein said that the definition of insanity was doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Just for fun let's follow the logic line here. The U.S, Japan, China, South Korea, and Russia keep doing the same thing over and over, and 56 years later... You see where I'm going with this.

Plus, we've known for over 30 years that none of the food, medicine, money, or fuel oil get to the people. It goes to the Politburo and the military. So we can take the humanitarian reason for continuing this out of the equation.

I suggest it's time for a new strategy. Cut them off. That's right, tough love. Spare the rod and spoil the child. What ever you want to call it. Why? Because what we've been doing doesn't fucking work.

This would have been much easier years ago when all North Korea had in the way of a threat was a "Million Man Army". I always thought that was funny because here's a massive army who've never been shot at. Numbers don't always mean shit when the lead starts flying. I will give them this, the have really snappy uniforms and they have that goose step down better than the Nazis ever did. Check it out this propaganda film they put out.

What I really don't understand is that for a few years now both Republican and Democratic politicians have been wetting their pants over the idea that Iran may be able to build a nuclear weapon in a year or two. Well guess what? North Korea successfully tested a nuclear weapon in 2006 and tested a fucking ICBM today! And nobody in Washington seems to think this could be a problem. I'll again ask the question, WTF?

Hillary's Full Of It

I'm so pissed off, I've had to rewrite this blog four times to take out as many four letter words as I can.

I'm calling bullshit on Hillary Clinton.

This idiot we have for Secretary of State just said that "America's insatiable demand for illegal drugs and its inability to stop weapons from being smuggled into Mexico are fueling an alarming spike in violence along the U.S.-Mexican boarder."

That's right, she says it's our fault. What a bunch of shit!

Of course there's a very easy solution. Because it's easy and makes sense we know the nobody in Washington will make it happen. Here's my plan.

We bring in the Army Corps of Engineers and have then build a real fence on the boarder. It starts at the Pacific Ocean and ends at the Gulf of Mexico. Build it right and build it fast. None of this Secure Fence shit with a little bit here and a little bit there.

When the fence is finished you put up big signs in multiple languages saying "Deadly Force is Authorized. Climb this fence and you will be shot". Yes, a few smart asses will try. After you kill a few of them that will be the end of that.

Next we quadruple the number of Boarder Agents and move the National Guard down there. And this time every body's armed. We also get the Air National Guard off the ground in case someone tries to fly in. "Fox Two".

From that moment on there's no drug trafficking coming in, no human trafficking coming in, and no weapons going out.

Problem solved.

And just in case my blood pressure isn't high enough, I now hear that the Mexican Government doesn't like the idea of us closing our boarder. Too fucking bad. The Mexican Government is trying to do the same thing with it's southern boarder with Guatemala.

Can You Hear Me Now?

I don't normally do this, but I think I'm going to give Rush Limbaugh a pass on something he said the other day. We know that Rush has gone deaf and now has a cochlear implant. I assume he didn't hear the story correctly and misspoke.

On the other hand, I'm always amused at what Rush has to say. He usually takes a part of a real news story, then puts his own spin on it that doesn't always have anything to do with reality. What's great is he says it with such authority that people believe him without checking out the facts.

You all know me. I don't believe anyone, so I did some checking.

Rush's comment were about the AIG bailout/bonus thing. It seems like Rush thinks the AIG guys should be able to keep their bonus money. Plus, he mentioned that there have been calls for public execution and suggestions of suicide for these individuals. Okay, that part is true. The spin he puts on is that he says all of this hate talk is being "ginned up by the Obama Administration".

Oops, sorry Rush, that sort of talk was started by Sen. Charles Grassley. Mr. Grassley is a Republican from Iowa. I don't think Sen. Grassley runs with the Obama crowd.

Maybe an audiology consult is due. Or maybe Rush is just full of it. Then there's that whole thing that Freud said about cigars and Rush seems to like them big.

Construction Workers

Here's a great story from the Boston Globe about a bunch of construction guys.

At the Dana-Farber Cancer Center, kids getting treated for cancer write their names on sheets of paper then tape them to the windows of the walkway across from the construction site.

Everyday the iron workers paint the names on the I-beams and hoist them into place.
